Bangkok Trip – Day 2 ♥
Hey there! How are you people? I’m feeling a little under the weather emotionally but this post is not about my feelings lol.. Anyway, hope things are going great for you, whoever you are, wherever you are and whatever you are doing
As promised, this is the sequel post to my BKK trip.. there’ll be a final post following this one..
Note: Non-Halal photo(s) & words are being used below, so please refrain from continuing with this post if you are concerned with the issue.
We woke with a contented feeling cuz the bed was soooo soft and fluffy.. Did not have time to soak in the tub though as we were a little behind the planned schedule haha..
Headed to the dining hall.. The breakfast buffet only lasts till 10am so better take note of the timing if you are staying in this hotel ya.. Choices are a little limited though..
My breakfast platter – ok la this is for photography purposes only, I did have a second helping haha.. Don’t judge LOL
A wefie before we stepped out for the day ^^
Our first stop was Jatujak Market ♥ We went by taxi from our hotel and it cost us about 300baht..
This market is extremely big and it is divided into areas with different trades for each area.. Remember to have a look at the map on your left of the main entrance to determine where you are going.. The market is categorized into antiques, clothing, arts, handcrafts, souvenirs, home décor, dried food, ceramic and more!
Make sure you leave some room in your tummy for tons of yummilicious street food when you are here!
Is it Chatuchak or Jatujak? lol
There is a stall selling roasted juicy pork meat in skewers and bowls.. Don’t worry about finding the place, just follow the smell and you’ll get there
Yummy pork of all sizes and types haha.. Please eat with caution if you are buying the bacon wrapped enoki mushroom.. I almost choked to death on the spot cuz the mushroom was very long and dangled halfway in my throat ==||
Don’t tell people you have visited Bangkok if you did not try their famed Thai Fish Cake!! It’s very delicious and juicy but quite spicy cuz there are bits of chili mixed into the fish cake batter..
Chicken Noodle Soup --- absolute must-try ♥ And I am someone who don’t even take chicken soup so just imagine how tasty it is that I will even hard-sell it to you haha
The popular coconut ice cream ♥ yums! You can choose what kind of fillings to go with the ice cream.. Our mouth-watering concoction was coconut ice cream with glutinous rice, durian flesh and mango cubes Extremely refreshing and suitable for those who have thronged the market under the glaring hot sun..
It was so stifling hot that we left the market much earlier than anticipated.. And headed back to our hotel with our loot for a cooling dip in the gorgeous view-looking pool!
Our hotel’s rooftop pool ^^ awesome view right!
In case you are wondering, my sister was in the room checking out her major purchases from Chatuchak Market because she burned her thigh with a curling thong == and couldn’t risk an infection from going into the chlorine contaminated water..
Next on, we headed for our last stop of the day – Asiatique ♥
Saw this sweet concoction of coconut, sago and flour thingy that I don’t know the name of on the streets and we just had to try it.. Not bad but much too sweet for me..
One way to get to Asiatique:
1. Take the BTS (sky train) to Saphan Taksin station
2. Go down to Taksin Bridge and take the service boat at the pier (FOC)
We’re here!!
Welcome to Asiatique
If you are a desserts person, you can check out the famous Mango Tango in Asiatique.. They have quite a few branches in Bangkok and they serve the best mango based, infused, concocted desserts that you can think of..
How can I miss a picture with the ever-trendy love locks ♥ ?
Lo and behold, the magnificent Ferris wheel, the Asiatique Sky.. The main attraction of Asiatique which operates from 5pm – 12am.. Honestly speaking, there isn’t much here.. Only the wheel, some shopping and expensive-looking restaurants.. Most of the cuisine offered were not authentic Thai food..
There was this rumor about how taking the Ferris wheel alone can change your fate so the Asiatique Sky crew have divided the queue into 2 sections; the single person queue and the normal queue..
Yes, you guessed right.. My sister was in the single person queue haha.. Maybe she wanna change her height lol
A goodnight view to lull me to sleep from my room, I wished.. Nah.. It’s the view you can see from Asiatique.. Took this while waiting for the service boat to send us back.. Fyi, the last boat is at 11pm, do take note..
Ok, that’s all for this post.. Catch up soon! Toodles ♥
