Bangkok Trip – Day 1 ♥
It’s the season for traveling around, or maybe we shall say it’s the YEAR to be travelling lol.. Everyone I know seems to be going away on trips, vacations, honeymoons and whatsoever every month since January.. This month only, I have 3 friends going to Japan >< What are the odds? lol..
Gonna share with you about my Bangkok trip last April Sorry it took me a while to blog about this but I had to extract the photos from my iPhone, arrange into some sequence of order, edit them, think of what to write and so on and so forth lol excuses much hah!
It was my first time in Bangkok hence I did quite a bit of research on what to eat, what to buy, where to visit and etc.. I got most of my info from this awesome website http://bangkok.com/ and lots of advices by my sweetie, Ivy Lim who did a ton more of homework on BKK since her trip was just a week before mine..
So, here goes the first day..
How can I miss the chance of posting my flying-off pose with travel luggage haha
We took the 10.40am flight from KLIA2 and landed in Don Mueang airport at 11.45am..
While in flight~~~acting all swag
Arrival platform is situated on Level 1 where lots of taxi drivers tend to overcharge tourists without providing them the option of the running meter.. They’ll just state a sky-high price for you to try and haggle..
So, my advice is you can go over to Level 3 (departure platform) where the taxis just dropped of passengers who are flying off.. They usually have the running meter option It should cost you less than 300baht and around 25 minutes to town area..
PS: Please brush up on a few words of Thai and prepare the addresses of the place you want to visit in Thai language cuz most of the taxi and tuk tuk drivers are not familiar with English..
Oh btw, do remember to get a Thai sim card if you are constantly in need of data plan like me haha.. It only cost 300baht for a 1 week usage of 3GB data and 100baht of calling credit.. You can get it at the Don Mueang airport or onboard Air Asia plane..
We took a taxi to The Grand Sathorn Hotel, our beautiful lodgings for 3 nights.. Check-in process was fast, about 10minutes only and the reception service was great.. They were really courteous..
Lobby lounge..
Escalator area..
They even have a surfing area with desktop for you to use if you need one..
Ok, moving on to our spectacular room which I loved to pieces ♥
Once you come in the door, you will meet the kitchen area which leads to the…
Living Room, which in turn leads to…
the Bedroom, with sliding doors if you need some privacy
And, the Bathroom’s on the side of the kitchen only..
All this for RM198 per night per room ♥
Isn’t it a great deal? Snagged the offer from Groupon Malaysia!
After a 30mins refreshing session, we headed out the door.. Took the taxi again..
1st stop: Mr Jones’ Orphanage (Siam Centre)
The décor is adorbs ♥
But, honestly speaking, the dessert was so-so only.. Looks nice for picture-taking, that is a given.. But they taste more than average only.. Definitely over-priced and there is a constant queue!
Next, we had a walk around Siam Centre and Siam Discovery which is a connecting mall next door before moving on to Platinum Mall, the famed place for cheap buys ^^
We went by a tuk tuk~~~it was a crazy ride, very exhilarating! The 4 of us managed to cram into 1 tuk tuk, that speaks volume of our size eh ahahahaha
Didn’t take pics inside the mall cuz we were busy shopping, obviously xD haha
Before we start our shopping marathon, we had..
Mc Donald’s Thailand – pork burger! How can you not try this when you are here? The succulent pork patty was grilled to perfection, yums ♥.♥
Chicken Ham Carbonara Pie ♥ I had this everyday in Bangkok, my absolute crave!! Why you no exist in Malaysia?
Hello~I’m stopping traffic with a kin jio hahaha
Did more shopping till it was time for dinner~~~we had Thai food the conventional way---street food yay!
Roasted pork strips --- so yummy we ordered a second plate!
This egg was really nice & fluffy.. Kinda like our “Fu Rong Dan”
Tom Yum Kung --- need I explain more?
Salted Grilled Fish --- a must try on your list of BKK food!
Please excuse the low quality pics due to poor lighting since we ate along the busy streets of Bangkok..
Ok, that’s the end of Day 1.. See you in Day 2 ♥
